Political decisions have a significant impact on pharmaceutical logistics—from supply security and regulatory requirements to the European regulatory framework. At the same time, it is logistics and transportation companies that must deliver what is required at the political level: stability, quality, and reliable supply chains.
VITAIRA was founded on this conviction. And it is precisely out of this sense of responsibility that we are pleased to announce that VITAIRA founder Andreas Thiede will be actively participating in Pharma Deutschland’s political committee going forward.
Practical Experience as a Foundation
Andreas Thiede brings more than 20 years of experience in the GEHE pharmaceutical distribution sector, pharmaceutical logistics, and owner-managed, medium-sized companies. He is convinced that supply security is not achieved through added complexity, but rather through clear standards, effective networks, and collaborative partnerships—with a focus on ensuring comprehensive access to medications nationwide.
He sees his role on the Policy Committee as
- to shed light on operational realities,
- to translate regulatory requirements into practical terms and
- To bridge the gap between political aspirations and logistical feasibility.
Our Mission
VITAIRA strengthens a reliable, safe, and sustainable supply of medicines in Europe by bringing together specialized logistics companies. Andreas Thiede brings to the Policy Committee a deep understanding of GDP/GMP, experience in building secure temperature-controlled networks, and the conviction that resilience can only be achieved through collaboration.
Looking Ahead
The future of pharmaceutical supply lies at the intersection of regulation, quality, and operational implementation. VITAIRA looks forward to continuing to drive this initiative forward together with Pharma Deutschland, Dorothee Brakmann, its member companies, and all partners—to ensure efficient, future-proof European pharmaceutical logistics.
